Fantastic dinner at a cozy neighborhood bistro. We sat at the bar which felt like a chef's table, giving a great view of kitchen and access to the chef. He even walked us through the menu and suggested a great wine. I had the pan seared monkfish with parsley risotto and brown butter sage sauce. Absolutely delicious. Service was good too. Will definitely be returning when we're back in the area.

Oct 2024: Been here a few more times since the last review. We came and tried the Tomahawk steak and that is really good. It was cooked perfectly to medium rare and the grilled veggies were a plus.
June 2024: Tonight we decided to go out for dinner last minute. Around 8 I called to make sure that the kitchen will still be open. The restaurant was cozy. There were about 5 tables including ours. We had calamari, Bison Bolognese and Chilean Sea Bass. For me the calamari was okay because it was a bit soggy. The Bison Bolognese was a bit salty but it was very flavorful. The Chilean Sea Bass was really good. The fish was cooked just right and mixed with the risotto and chimichurri flavors it was very good. Michelle our waitress, who also answered my call was friendly and checked up on us a couple times. She also answered all my questions about the dishes' ingredients and cook methods.

We had very pleasant interactions with the helpful hosting staff on the phone and on arrival - for our reservation for two they had set aside a nice table in a more private corner. This was especially appreciated as the restaurant was fairly loud at peak time, not unexpected given the busy dinner rush. I did like the cozy feel of the restaurant itself. The service was slow though again, they were quite busy when we arrived; the server was nevertheless friendly. The pasta purses (see picture) and garlic bread were very yummy! Less so for the entrees - we each got a pasta dish. (They were 2 of as far as I can tell, only 3 vegetarian-friendly entree options--the other also being a pasta dish. This was not a problem for us as we had reviewed the menu in advance, and the options sounded good!) The dishes were okay at best, not terribly flavorful and somewhat watery. More problematically they were in my opinion overpriced for the quality and portion ($24 - see pictures and decide for yourself).

I’ve been looking forward to visiting Vista Vino for a long while and it did not disappoint. The food was great (my main dish was the NY Strip which was cooked to a perfect medium rare) and the setting is very comfortable. We had a nice chat with the owner and head chef Dan, overall it was the perfect date night and we can’t wait to return.

Stopped by while the traffic was high, this was a great find. The food and service were excellent. The garlic bread was amazing, perfectly seasoned. The dipping olive oil also had great seasoning. The pasta was amazing and well portioned. The service was excellent, we were served by everyone walking by. Totally recommend this restaurant. Make a reservation, and that says something.

We ordered takeout and waited. When we arrived home, the cioppino broth/stew/soup was missing. Initially, I thought that this was a mistake, but when I contacted the restaurant, I was surprised at how combative the manager was on the phone. His explanation was that it "Was my fault for ordering take-out and driving 15 mins" and followed with "What did I expect?" Then his next excuse was that the "noodles absorb the broth." Then I believe he mentioned something about a container. In the end, he told me that he was busy and I was being unreasonable. I'm appalled at his lack of manners or care for his product and patrons. Restaurants only succeed when customers return. We definitely will not!

I had been wanting to try Vista Vino for some time, but we never seemed to have enough time. I made reservations. The restaurant was smaller than I anticipated, the table unfortunately matched - making it a bit difficult for the plates to fit. The table itself was right by the "wine cellar" unfortunately but I guess better than by the restroom or kitchen. I guess I expect a bit nicer place especially since it was still early and I did make reservations.
The first bottle of wine we chose, Nicole said it was not in stock. I started to have flashbacks to another night at a different Italian restaurant - I was afraid it might be a repeat. We chose the Coppola "Director's Cut" to start.
For appetizers, we had the Caprese Salad and Pasta Purses (roasted pear & mascarpone pasta purse, brown butter, amaretti crumbs, balsamic fig glaze, pine nuts) - both delicious. I was just ready to order the rest of the appetizers but decided to stay on course.
The Rigatoni Sicilian was delicious - the sausage and meatballs were seasoned well. The Shrimp and Lobster Fra Diavola had more heat than expected but it was delicious.
Dessert came with a delicious flourless chocolate cake with a scoop of ice cream and a parfait cheesecake (it was pretty good, but it had more of a pudding consistency rather than cheesecake).
By the end of the night, the restaurant was getting packed and very loud. They had a nice relaxed atmosphere, but I would not recommend it you are looking for something a bit cozy or romantic - perhaps it is quieter on another night. (It was a Saturday night for us.)
All in all, Nicole was a very attentive server and my faith in Italian restaurants had been restored.

I had the MOST AMAZING Tomahawk Tuesday Special for two people (tomahawk, wine, salad, bread, and cloudless cake) here last week!! It was the tomahawk special! Started with tasty foccacia bread, then Caesar salad, then the tomahawk. The tomahawk was served with potatoes, asparagus, and 3 sauces, chili crisp, mustard, and chimichurri! It was so so soooo good. We kept asking for more foccacia too! All the flavors of the tomahawk and sauces tasted beautifully together. The entire meal was paired with delicious Cabernet Sauvingon from Kunde. Absolutely romantic atmosphere. The owner was actually walking around chatting with everyone too! I can't remember our servers name but she was amazing! There was a couple who sat near the window and requested to move because it was too cold and she helped them find a better table for them. Our server also had a lot of fun jokes to share with us too!

I was told the only constant with the Tomahawk Tuesday Special is the 2lb tomahawk, Caesar salad, and the dessert so the rest is subject to change.

Will definitely be coming back. I HIGHLY recommend the tomahawk special!
